Out with the old
In with the new
Our tiny little department has lost another new employee, she turned her noticed in after only 3 weeks of work. She had actually found a better job within the system and willingly admitted that PPA was not meant for her..lol.
My Nurse Manager stopped into the dept (she tries to stay away) and asked the 2 remaining HUC's (my title) why can't we keep new employees very long. We just looked at each other and told her we have no idea. :)
Boy, did that take a lot of restraining power for me to say just that. So, once again, my job has become very secure again.
It is hard to believe how fast those pleasant 3 seasons go by when that dreaded 4th one comes knocking at your door, however I have a new (used) toy to play with this winter, a snow blower. The old one I had never worked very well and tried to have it repaired a few times but became to old to run. Yesterday we went to good bye party of a friend who is moving to Clarksville, TN.
to be nearer to her son, daughter-in-law and grand kids, so of course doesn't need it and I bought it. She's very excited and very happy for her, she will love it down there.
What else have I been up too? Nothing much, just trying to get the yard cleaned up, but the weather isn't cooperating at all, hopefully next weekend. Work is the usual, just trying to stay out of everyone's way and not being involved in conflicts, which in itself gets me in trouble..lol
Met with my financial guy last week for our yearly review and of course to raise my rates..lol, but he is a good guy and am set to retire at 62, which is 553 days from today!! Yes, I have downloaded the app of a retirement clock to my I pod and counting the days, it will be PARTY TIME!!! People at work can't believe I want to retire after working there 39 years and why not stay til you hit 40 years, my reply is nope, life for me will begin at 62. Good enough of a reason as any.
Oh, speaking of my I pod I have downloaded a "white noise" site which has many sounds that enable you to sleep better. Yes, I am one of "those" who need consent sound during the night. I usually run a fan all night but noticed after visiting both oceans in Oct., that it is the sound of waves crashing on the beach that totally relaxes me. So, I put my earplugs in, turn on the I pod to ocean sounds, set the timer and off to sleep in minutes. Plus it makes me dream strange things, pleasant things....more about that later.
OK, rambling is done, just wanted to give anyone a heads up on my life if interested, if not, don't blame you...lolol
Cheers
